Blake has 7 years of experience in General Ledger Accounting. His experience includes financial reporting and analysis, international consolidations, SEC Reporting, audit support, and IPO preparation.
Blake is experienced in a wide range of accounting areas. His work while in industry and as a consultant includes daily accounting operations, end-to-end responsibility for the fixed asset cycle, month-end close responsibilities, and the periodic reconciliation of various general ledger accounts. He has assisted in the preparation of financial statements and footnotes for both public and non-public companies. Other areas include tax compliance, audit preparation and support, drafting company policies, and documenting internal controls. He has assisted with the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, and has experience with equity accounting such as stock-based compensation expense and options exercises. He has also prepared cash flow statements, GAAP to non-GAAP reconciliations, EPS calculations, and both flux and budget-to-actual analyses. He has prepared month-end close packages that were presented to management, and has been closely involved in monthly and quarterly reviews of financial results.
Prior to joining ARC Consulting, Blake was a GL Accountant at Cyan Inc., a telecommunications company whose main products consisted of optical networking hardware and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solutions. He was a key member of the accounting team during the company’s transitions from startup to IPO to its final acquisition by Ciena Corporation. He helped prepare the company’s S-1 registration statement and later assisted with quarterly and annual SEC filings. He was also involved with multiple ERP transitions, and led the company’s efforts in successfully implementing a global expense reimbursement system.
